You cannot just believe every workout tips and routines passed on you because there is always a tendency that they are mere waste of time. Before you invest start working to achieve your goal, beware of the common fitness uncovered lies. Below are some of the exercise and fitness myths worth knowing about.
Working out so hard brings greater results
If you have been spending too much time at the gym and killing yourself just to reach your fitness target then maybe you should consider slowing down. Overtraining is one of the most common reasons why you are not seeing fast and visible positive physical changes. It is not good to always keep your muscles working because they develop when they are idle. Many believe that the muscles develop while working out but the fact is they develop when you are resting. Give your body some time to adapt to its changes so that it is able to cope up to the muscle growth.
Calories burned can be measured by how you sweat
Many people think that the more you sweat the more calories and fats you shred. Such is not a precise because sweating is the biological effect of the changes in your body temperature. If you go on a run in a hot sunny day you tend to sweat more than going on a run at dawn but that doesn’t mean that you are burning more in the former scenario.
Crunches are the best abs exercise
Even though crunches somehow target the abs, you should know that they are really targeting your entire core. Many believe that the key to having a perfectly toned and flat abs are crunches which is not really a fact. Crunches only target as small portion of your abs and highly engage your muscles in your shoulders and butt. If you have been targeting your midsection and focus on doing crunches, you are not doing it right because crunches do not result in fat loss. You can focus on doing planks instead.
Women must avoid weights to be lean
Many girls avoid lifting weights because of the myth that they will become unattractively bulky. Studies proved the female body does not easily build up muscles as compared to the male body. There is no need to fear weights because they are very effective in burning calories and decreasing body fat.
