4 Primary Dangers of Obesity

Obesity is a very common condition of the significant huge portion of today’s population. Due to lack of care in the type of food intake and failure to exercise regularly, the body gains unwanted fats that causes so many kinds of illnesses. Due to the excess fats needed by the body, obesity can deteriorate and even cause malfunction of various body organs. Obesity affects not only the physical state of the human body but the mental health as well. To understand why we should do our best to regulate our weight, classified below are the primary dangers of being obese.

  1. Obesity causes heart ailments

Obesity causes serious heart problems on so many levels. Statistics has proven that almost 80% of obese individuals are diagnosed of chronic and coronary heart diseases. Too much body fat blocks the arteries which cause problems in blood circulation in the heart and all throughout the body. If this happens, it’s only a matter of time that you will have a heart attack. Heart attack can put you in life-death situations.

  1. Obese Individuals are more exposed to cancer

Cancer is one of the most common causes of death. Obesity can expose you into many different types of cancer. Colon cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, gall bladder cancer, and endometrial cancer are some of the cancer types that obese people are very exposed to.

  1. Obesity causes an increase in high blood pressure

High blood pressure has many consequential effects in the human body. Being obese, the arterial cardiac output and blood volume are increased. High blood pressure can cause hypertension. Because excess body fats can cause high secretion of insulin, the sugar in the blood vessels is decreased which means that the body becomes incapable of coping up with its changes. This can cause the body to get immune by the presence of insulin which is the substance that control sugar, the blood sugar will sum up which will eventually cause diabetes.

  1. Obesity can cause depression, anxiety disorders, and behavioral issues

Not only that obesity has bad effects in the physical and internal aspects of the human body, it also affects a person’s psychological state. Obesity can lower an individual’s self esteem which can cause him or her to be afraid of meeting new people and making adventures. Being afraid to mingle can put a person in a lonely place that affects how he or she perceives life.
