Have you been working out for quite a while now and still not seeing positive changes? It is frustrating to invest time and effort and not reap rewards out of your hard work. This is one of the most common discouraging reasons why some quit working out. If you have been working out for quite some time and do not see results, maybe you are doing something wrong. Or worst, you end up gaining weight or obtaining injury. Below are some common work out mistakes and how you can correct them.
Repeating the same routine
There is a need to mix things up when it comes to working out. You cannot just do the same routine all over again for months or else you might be missing something that turns out to be more effective. It is good to try different variety of exercises to assess whether which routine will work for you best. If you keep on doing the same routine, there is a tendency it is not suited for you to achieve the body that you are targeting. Plus if you have been doing the same routine for a long time now, your body will reach to the point that it will not respond to such activity therefore producing no physical changes. You can ask your workout instructor for new workout routines or you can simply use the internet to research.
Not doing warm-up and cool-down exercises
The importance of warm-up and cool-down exercises cannot be ignored. There is a need to prepare your body to the immense changes about to happen on your actual work out. If the body is exposed to abrupt changes caused by intense workout, it causes stress to the heart due to prompt increase of temperature and heart rate. The blood is not circulated properly therefore can possibly cause negative effects like injuries, cramps, stiffness, soreness, and the likes. It is recommended to do at least 5 minute warm up and another 5 minutes cool down exercise depending on the intensity of your workout routine.
Not having enough rest
Resting is vital in the whole fitness activity. The body muscles build up when your body is resting. If you do not get enough rest and tend to over train, there is a tendency of fatigue, injury, insomnia, and other psychological and physiological effects. It is very important to rest before and after work out to give your body time to adjust and your muscles to develop. Basically, you need to get enough sleep and rest for at least 20 minutes post workout.
