The phrase health is wealth is almost a cliché. We always read and hear this but we do not really understand what it means. Let’s start with a question, what are the most valuable riches you have? Is it your home, investments, properties, or is it your family? What do you think really matters while you are still breathing? We strive so hard every day in order to reach our goals in life, material or not. But have you ever thought about that if a sickness gets in the way, everything that you sacrificed and worked for will all be worthless. In this light, explained further is the fact that health is the greatest wealth.
Once you get sick, money will not matter anymore. How can you enjoy everything you have achieved and everything that you have acquired if you are too unwell? Everything that you worked for so hard in years will be put into nothing if you get ill at a certain point. Our health is what keeps us alive and able to do the things that must be done. If you are not healthy, you will not reach your maximum potential and you will not experience the fullest of life. Being healthy and fit gives you the opportunity to live your life at its best. You will have to worry no more of the consequences of being ill. You will never appreciate what life could offer if you have many issues with health and fitness.
When we speak of health, it is not limited to physical health but extends to mental and spiritual health as well. You must not only aim for physical fitness and health but also for mental and spiritual health. The body is linked highly to the mind and it is affected by it. If you always allow stress to affect how you think and perceive life, this causes unhealthy signals to the body. Your energy level deteriorates therefore generally affecting the quality of life. There are people that are very effective when it comes to attaining optimal physical health but are poor when it comes to mental health. Make sure that you are able to handle and control stress so that it won’t lead to anxiety or worst depression.
The primary key to be healthy is regular exercise, proper nutrition, and effective stress management. These should be one of our top priorities in life because they are the reasons why we are still in it.
