How to Make a Real Lemon Drink - The 5 Healthy Way

A lot of people think that they already master making lemon drink. When you surf the internet, there are many guides that you can find. Sometimes it can get confusing because of the many recipes there are. To assure that you are making your lemon drink the correct and healthiest way, make sure you know the following.

  1. Prepare the Lemon the Right Way

First of all, you must use fresh lemons to make a lemon drink. To achieve a delightful, nutritious, and flavorful drink, the lemons you should be using are fresh produces. If you have fresh lemons, then you can start. If you are grabbing lemons from the fridge, make sure that you stick them in the microwave for a little while. Before using them for juicing, let them cool down first. Before cutting them open, roll the lemons against the counter. This will make them easier to juice. Then cut the lemons lengthwise. A lot of us think that we should cut the lemon the other way around because more lemon juice could be extracted. Such should not be the case in order to perfectly cut through the lemon’s membranes and make use of everything.

  1. Squeezing Lemon Juice

Although this seemed very simple, a lot of people are doing it wrong. Nutritionists say that in making lemon drink, you need to make sure that the lemon is squeezed the right way. If the lemon is properly extracted, you get the most nutrients upon drinking the lemon drink. Thus it is important to have an appropriate squeezing item. Cut the lemon in half and make sure that every drop of lemon juice is extracted.

  1. Add Less Sugar as Possible

This is very challenging to the most of us. Pure lemon juice has a very sour taste and it has been customary to add sugar in order to sweeten. If you are aiming for a very healthy drink, do not add sugar or add just a very little. If you regularly drink lemon juice, you can start to get used with putting less amount of sugar to the point that you will add no more.

  1. Mix in hot water

Usually, we make lemon juice using cold water. Many health experts believe that making lemon drink using hot water will elevate the nutrient content of the drink. You can add hot lemon drink in your breakfast meal to kick start your day. But if you do not like hot lemon drink, you can put the hot mixture in the refrigerator to cool. This way the added nutrients will be preserved.

  1. Mix properly before serving

Before you pour your hot or cold lemon drink, make sure that you mixed it thoroughly first. Stir from the bottom to the top of the container to ascertain that the lemon extract and the sugar are dissolved and mixed well.  This will result to a tastier and evenly flavored lemon drink. If what you made is a cold lemon drink, make sure to stir well before adding ice cubes.
